2015 Christmas Fairs

It is nearly time for the Salisbury Racecourse Fair this Sunday 8th November which will be the start of the Christmas Fairs for me. I have been very busy preparing my stock and making Christmas decorations! The Vintage Bazaar in Devizes is my favourite, it is full of lovely things and, as it tends to specialise in textiles I am in my element and I find it very inspiring. This year it will be at the Corn Exchange in Devizes as usual on 28th November from 9.30 to 3.30. The Very Vintage Christmas Fair at the Salisbury Guildhall was a great success last year, it coincides with the outdoor Christmas Fair just outside the Guildhall which brings in a lot of customers. This year it will be on Sunday December 6th.

I now have a Facebook page on Sky-Blue-Vintage where I shall be posting more frequently!

Salisbury Racecourse Antique Fair on 8 November 2015

I shall be at the Racecourse Antique Fair on 8th November. Christmas is fast approaching so I shall concentrate on items which would make lovely presents. There will be plenty of jewellery and also some toys, although they will be for collectors rather than children! I will also have plenty of collectable sewing related lovely bits and pieces. This is only my second time at the Racecourse and I am still
finding out what customers are looking for there but I will also bring a selection of my beautiful antique evening bags which should be perfect for the Christmas period. I shall be attending a couple of lovely Fairs later on in the month and in December more details will follow very soon.

Salisbury Racecourse Antique Fair on 30th August 2015

This summer has been hectic in many ways and I have not kept up very well with this blog as there is less than a week to go before the Antique Fair! This is a new venture for me but I am feeling very positive about it as it is a relatively large fair which also includes an outdoor flea market. Thankfully I shall be inside and I have been given plenty of space to display my own mixture of vintage and older pieces. The organiser was very keen to have a stall with a vintage feel mixed with the more traditional antiques and the flea market. There will be a lot of choice to suit all tastes and it is definetly worth coming!

Tilbury and Frome

I am very exited about these two Fairs which are a completely new venture for me.  The first one is the Tisbrury Brocante on the Bank Holiday Monday when the whole of Tisbrury will come alive and become a giant fair! I shall be in one of the Village HalIs so I do not have to worry about the weather for this one and I will be able to bring some of my more delicate items. Tisbrury is a very pretty little town and it should be a really good day out.

The second will be in Frome on 16 May and is the Vintage Bazaar Jumble Sale where we will all be selling our reduced items. This is a wonderful opportunity to buy unusual, lovely vintage items at very reasonable prices as the standards of the Vintage Bazaar are so high. I have done several of the Fairs in Devizes and I have really enjoyed them, there is always a buzz in the air and they are very inspirational, this is my first Fair in Frome and I am very much looking forward to it.

Please find the details for both Fairs below.

Salisbury Vintage Fairs 2015

This year there will be a Vintage Fair outside the Guildhall on the last Friday of every month. I shall not be attending every one of them, but I decided at the last minute on the next one in a couple of days time on 24 April. You will also find me there in July, August and September. I have been buying a lot of interesting new things, do come and have a look.

Devizes Vintage Bazaar March 7 2015

I am looking forward to the first Vintage Bazaar of the year in Devizes on March 7. It will be at the Corn Exchange as usual. It is a lovely venue and it will be full of wonderful true vintage items beautifully displayed. I sold a lot of my stock at the Christmas Fairs and I have been busy buying and restoring. I have discovered over the years that I derive a lot of satisfaction from mending and polishing and generally restoring unloved neglected items to their original beauty! The Vintage Bazaar will be my first Fair of the year and it will be like coming out of hibernation. I have taken a few photographs of some of my new stock, I am particularly fond of two wonderful handbags with celluloid clasps.
